Korean People’s Army Ground Force (North Korea)

The Korean People’s Army Ground Force is the land fighting force and the largest component of the Korean People’s Army. It is responsible for domestic or homeland security of North Korea.

The Korean People’s Army Ground Force was founded on 20th August, 1947. Kim Jong-un is the Commander-in-Chief of KPA Ground Force.

KPA Ground is the 4th largest standing army in the world with 9,60,000 active personnel. Central Military Commission in the capital Pyangyong is the headquarters of the KPA Ground Force.

When it comes to equipment, KPA Ground Force has 4300 tanks, 2500 Infantry Fighting Vehicles (IFVs), 5500 Multiple Rocket Launchers and 8600 artillery units.
